MY JOURNEY TO THE CROWN

The long awaited event is here! Shenton Way,Singapore here I come. I do not know how my journey will end but I have done everything within my power to win and “all I can do, is all I can do”. I will be satisfied no matter what the outcome. I am pleased that I have told my family and all my friends what I am doing because everyone is very supportive. However, I wish I had not told my family and all my friends what I am doing because everyone, including me, will be greatly disappointed if I lose.
The aditorium is nice and the delegates are excited. The various faces are polished and bright. Everyone is beautiful, polite, and anxious. How can I compete, I am just regular. Oh well, just have fun. As our organiser, Mr. Chen Dyen said, “For the next few days, you are in the pageant zone. Enjoy the experience.”
It is Sunday and show time. I have been wished well by several contestants and told by others that I will win. Everyone is very supportive; I think I may have a good chance of winning. Everything is packed and I am in the cab riding to the auditorium. Thank God; I can walk; I can talk; I can win! And if I don’t, it won’t be because I didn’t try.
The pageant begins and everything is excitement. Everything is fast. All the faces are beautifully perfect. All the dresses are perfectly beautiful. Did the judges notice, I missed that pose? Did they notice my hair was not pinned high enough? I'm feeling groggy now as I know that my fever is escalating...never the less the show must go on..
The subsidaries awards were given, the runner ups, Ms. International World, Mrs International World, (I'm beggining to tremble...one more crown for the Mrs category...will I get it? will it be mine?,,jitters,jitters,jitters.) and for the most awaiting title.....MC: "Ladies & Gentlemen, our Mrs. Earth Singapore 2007/2008, is none other than, Candidate No. #11!!!!! Mrs. Nimfa Tingala - Su!"; I won, I won, I won! Thank God! I won! Everything is beautiful. Life is perfect. I can do anything, through Christ who strengthens me,through my husband who always support me, through my children who's the light of my life and forever my supporter & Fan (that was what my two tykes called themselves now a days!), My inlaws, relatives & My multinational friends (Maraming Salamat, Daghang Salamat, Terih Makasih, Muchas Gracias, Xie Xie ni Man) who always believe in me.I won! I won! I won! I’m not just a queen; I am the queen, Mrs. Earth Singapore! Hallelujah! Thank God, I won.
